Sally Pence

Lakeside resident Sally Pence died on March 10, following a one-car vehicular accident in Chapala. She was 64 years old.

Pence was born December 20, 1947 in Salem, Ohio and graduated from Shaw High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to San Diego, where she married shortly after graduation. She was later divorced.

She was employed by St. Paul (Minnesota) Housing Authority as a relocation specialist and was the corporate secretary of the JH Pence Financial Company for seven years. She married John Pence in 1982.

John and Nancy Pence moved to Lakeside in 1997 and Pence became an active member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of American Legion Post 7. She enjoyed the company of people and her upbeat and lively personality was always an important part of Auxiliary and Legion functions.

Pence loved cooking and children, particularly her own progeny that includes six daughters, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of Chapala, daughters Holly Palmer of Seattle and Leah Palmer, Laura Lee Anderson, Linda Lee Magen, Lisa Lee McCulloch and LuAnn Lee Lloyd, all of Minnesota. Her grandchildren are Gavin, Ava and Kayla Starbach, Ariel Marincell, Derek and Lee Anderson, Karly and Heather Mangen, Amy, Myhra and Thomas McCulloch and Whitney and Kelsey Lloyd.

Great-grandchildren are Lillian, Jackson and Henry McCulloch and Axton Walters.

Pence requested that no funeral or memorial services be held.
