Irwin Glotzer
Irwin Glotzer, 94, died January 15, in the company of Martha Luna and the rest of his adopted Mexican family of 25 years.
Born June 20, 1928 in New York City, Irwin joined the U.S. Army one week after his graduation.
A veteran of World War II, Irwin served in Japan as a signal corps message center clerk. For his service, he was decorated with the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan.
After leaving the military, Irwin joined the Post Office in Pennsylvania, where he worked until he retired.
Irwin traveled to Brazil for a short time before coming to Chapala 25 years ago.
Friends and family say Irwin remained intelligent, engaging and humorous person until the end of his life.
