Chamber music at two Puerto Vallarta venues

The Puerto Vallarta Chamber Orchestra and the Instituto de Artes Musicales Puerto Vallarta present concerts on Sunday, March 26 and Monday, March 27 at two venues.

The concerts feature Eastern European music, including selected Slavonic Dances by Antonin Dvorak and his Symphony No. 9, the “New World” Symphony. The program will also include Rumanian Folk Dances by Bela Bartok. The guest soloist will be Moruno, comprised of Diego Mateo and Nacho Flores, who will play Balkan music.

The shows are March 26, 8 p.m. at the American School, Calle Albatros 129; and March 27, 8 p.m., at Salon Paraiso, Paseo los Cocoteros next to San Javier Hospital in Paradise Village, Nuevo Vallarta.

A suggested donation of 200 pesos for adults (100 pesos for children and students) will make it possible for 300 students and families to attend the concerts for free. This supports the orchestra’s new policy of providing free tickets to music schools, student organizations and other groups who would otherwise be unable to enjoy the experience and cultural exposure that the concerts offer.
