Aurora “N”, a U.S. citizen who preyed on older victims through dating apps around Guadalajara and Lake Chapala (as detailed in last week’s Reporter), was sentenced this week to 37 years and six months in prison for the disappearance of an American man in Zapopan.

Prosecutors said the victim, whose whereabouts remain unknown, was lured through a dating app on December 8, 2021, and later transported to Nayarit — where Aurora “N” was found driving his vehicle.
The conviction, one of only a handful for disappearance in Jalisco, comes as she still faces extradition to the U.S. to answer 21 federal charges, including kidnapping, wire fraud and identity theft.
