State steps up for children with cancer

Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro this week distributed checks for 20,000 pesos to 172 families with children suffering from cancer. Most of the families do not have medical insurance, or affiliation with a government-operated institution, such as IMSS or ISSSTE.

Woman who burned to death posted own threats

Through handwriting analysis, the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences (IJCF) determined that Luz Raquel Padilla, the 35-year-old mother of an autistic child who burned to death in a Zapopan park on July 16, painted the messages threatening her own life on the walls of her apartment block.
