Chapala starts temporary employment program

The Chapala government has provided job opportunities to 70 local men and women accepted into the Temporary Employment Program (PET) sponsored by Jalisco’s Labor and Social Welfare Ministry (STyPSJ).
The breakdown this year’s benefits for Ajijic Pueblo Mágico came to approximately 800,000 pesos (US$47,400) spent on street signs, maps and information totems installed to guide visitors to points of interest, 620,000 pesos (US$36,725) for tourist agent salaries, and 500,000 pesos (US$29,620) for the new waste management system.
