Guadalajara gears up for mariachi mania

The vibrant rhythms and sweet harmonies of mariachi, the enormously popular musical genre reflecting the essence of Mexico believed to have originated in Jalisco, will reverberate across the city and the state’s Magic Towns during the 31st International Mariachi and Charrería Festival, between August 23 to September 4.

Sinkhole is repaired

After 17 days of around-the-clock labor, the stretch of Avenida Lopez Mateos closed off when a huge sinkhole appeared, reopened to traffic on August 12.

Tequila Express train ride back on the rails

The Tequila Express train, which takes locals and visitors from Guadalajara through the stunning agave landscape, is set to resume service after a nine-year hiatus. The rides will begin again on September 14, operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
