Narrator wanted

The Lake Chapala Orchestra will hold auditions Saturday, June 8, 2 p.m. at Lakeside Presbyterian Church for a narrator (male or female) for its performances of Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf,” with rehearsals and the concert in November. Choir to perform

Las Voces del Lago will perform its “Sing, Sing, Sing” concert June 13, 14 and 15, 3 p.m. at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church, San Jorge 250, Riberas del Pilar. The choir will present a pops concert featuring music from the Big Band era to famous hits throughout the decades.

Jazz quintet

The Gil Rios Quintet will perform at the Cochera Cultural, Javier Mina 49 in Ajijic, Sunday, June 16. Rios’ new project explores jazz aesthetics, fusing them with contemporary influences ranging from European jazz, electronic music to hip-hop. His music becomes a bridge between the traditional and the innovative, fusing classic jazz elements with modern and experimental sounds. The other musicians are TzinTzuni Varela on voice, Christian Jimenez on keyboard, Eleazar Soto on sax and Gillermo Nuñuz on drums. Tickets are 350 pesos. LLT stage

“Facing East,” a drama by Carol Lynn Person and directed by Collette Clavadetscher, will take to the stage Friday, June 21, 7:30 p.m. and also Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23 with matinees at 4 p.m. This is a special one-act play lasting 80 minutes, featuring actors Debra Bowers, David Ellison and Wayne Waterman, and will benefit the charity Ajijic Cares.
