Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed! On this Easter Sunday, April 16, St. Andrew’s Anglican Church joins with Christians all over the world to celebrate the miracle of Jesus’s resurrection.
Anyone living at Lakeside soon realizes there are many charities working to provide for the people and animals here. Dinners, special events, donation jars, consignment stores and church collections all provide the funds necessary for projects and budget needs.
Christ Church Episcopal
Christ Church Episcopal, a congregation of the Anglican Church of Mexico, will observe Palm Sunday by celebrating the Holy Eucharist Sunday, April 9, 9:30 a.m. at the Little Chapel by the Lake with the Liturgy of the Palms, including a procession with the blessed palms, a congregational recital of the Passion according to Matthew, and the Holy Eucharist. Vicar Danny Borkowski will preside and give a message with the theme “Son of the Father” based on Matthew 27:11-54.
The Outreach Committee of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church made grant distributions to ten charitable organizations on April 2. The committee, in partnership with Have Hammer, operates the resale store, Todo Bueno, located at Hidalgo 231 in Riberas Del Pilar. The funds distributed represent proceeds from the operation of the store, totalling in excess of 250,000 pesos.
The Tepehua Community Center held its annual Fools Wanted bash at the Sunrise Restaurant in Riberas del Pilar on April Fools Day.
Lake Chapala Shrine Club President David Eccles reports that the 11th Annual Ribfest held March 15 was the most successful fundraiser in the club’s history.
