The Lakeside Garden Guild celebrates the bounty of Mother Nature and the creative talents of its members at the Festival of Flowers, an annual display of floral arrangements scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2 to 5 p.m.
When Lila Kawananankoa founded Lakeside Friends of the Animals in 1983, her work began with helping animals one at a time, in an era when dead and injured animals were a common sight on local streets.
In a major step forward for dementia support in the region, Lakeside DayBreak has launched the Memory Neighborhood project — a non-profit initiative dedicated to building a new model of dementia care that is compassionate, culturally inclusive and powered by the community itself.
