Three centers dedicated to the nutrition and education of economically disadvantaged children that operated under the banner of famed Mexican soccer player Rafael Marquez have shut their doors, much to the dismay of many parents.

Like other Jalisco mayors elected under the banner of the Movimiento Ciudadano party, Jocotepec chief executive Hector Manuel Haro Pérez is set for a public referendum to ratify his three-year mandate, to be held Sunday, August 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In referendums to be held Sunday, August 27, Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) mayors in 25 Jalisco municipalities will put their jobs on the line, allowing their constituents to decide whether their mandates up until now have been a success or failure.
