Sleeping Beauty
After last year’s success, Joven Ballet de Jalisco, Guadalajara’s professional resident ballet company, will recreate its spectacular outdoor production of the classic fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty” to the beautiful music of Tchaikovsky in the majestic central patio of the Cabañas Institute.

Tuesday recitals
The Degollado Theater opens its doors each Tuesday for the free classical music series Martes de Musica y Opera. No tickets are sold nor is there numbered seating. Just turn up before the performance and grab a seat. The quality is always high, and the theater will often fill up. March 24: Piano recital by Jose Sandoval. Works by Mozart, Paganini, Bach and Rachmaninoff, among others.

Violentango
A debut performance in Guadalajara by Argentine jazz and progressive rock band Violentango. This creative and energetic band incorporates different musical strains into its work, including the tango. Has appeared at the fan ours U.K festival in Glastonbury. The gig is part of the ongoing “Alternative Wednesdays” presentations scheduled at this lesser-known venue inside the University of Guadalajara’s Spanish-language teaching school, the Colegio de Español y Cultura Mexicana (formerly CEPE).
