Hundreds of Ajijic youngsters partied at the waterfront park Monday, April 29 at the Día del Niño fête organized by the local DIF family development agency.
The kids were treated to lots of free snacks and got a kick out of playing a variety of traditional games such as hopscotch, marbles, spinning tops and jump rope. Dozens of boys teamed up to test their skills at capayol, a preHispanic game that involves batting a weighted bundle tied to turkey feathers in a contest akin to a cross between badminton and volleyball.
