San Nicolás flooding
Several homes in San Nicolás were flooded during the recent heavy rains, with some properties buried under more than a foot of mud and others destroyed.
Jackie Wright is accepting donations of clothes, shoes, and bedding at her home at Alta Vista 61 in Ajijic. Donations can also be dropped off at Birdie’s Lakeside Golf Lounge, located above Pancho’s Market in West Ajijic, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Jim Rambo presents “Laughing at the Law” Sunday, August 25, 10:30 a.m. at Open Circle, at the Lake Chapala Society.
Despite the serious nature of his work as a prosecutor, Rambo encountered unexpected humor during his more than 100 jury trials. He will share these anecdotes in hopes that the audience will gain a deeper understanding of the judicial system.

Positive moves
Club Positivo, a new social club located at Calle San Luis 217 in Riberas del Pilar, is hosting holistic learning luncheons every Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. This new venue offers daily events, including art classes and old movie screenings on Tuesdays, games and smartphone classes on Wednesdays, meditation movement sessions and TED Talk videos on Thursdays, and music jams, bingo and new movie screenings on Fridays.
