Thriller
Rehearsals for this fall’s Thriller/Zombie presentation in the Ajijic Plaza start Saturday, September 10 at Club Exotica at the back of El Jardin Restaurant on the Ajijic Plaza. Several thousand spectators are expected to see the show featuring about 100 zombies on Saturday, October 29, 5 p.m.
Fiestas Patrias
The Lake Chapala Society will host the Fiesta Mexicana Mi Mexico, Colores y Cariño Friday, September 2, 3-6 p.m. in the LCS garden. A Mexican show of mariachi and ballet folklorico along with a greased pole climbing competition and the release of color paper balloons is planned.
Garden Club
The Lake Chapala Garden Club enjoyed a huge turnout for its August 17 tour of Jack West’s garden featuring many varieties of Coleus.
Compost course
A practical course (in Spanish) on how to make garden compost is offered at the Centro Cultural Ajijic on Saturday, August 20.
Quince Fest continues
Atotonilquillo celebrates its quince harvest with the 23rd annual Expo Membrillo Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14 featuring music, dance and gastronomy from 11 a.m. to midnight. at the the pueblo’s Plaza Centenario.
