The Chapala Gospel Choir will host its first-ever Christmas Song Fest and Community Carol Sing on Sunday, December 14, 3 to 5 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar. The community is warmly invited to attend this festive, family-friendly musical celebration.
Founded in September 2025, the Chapala Gospel Choir was created to bring the vibrant sound of gospel music to the Lake Chapala region, offering an open, joyful space for singers of all backgrounds. Since its formation, the choir has grown steadily and has become known for its uplifting energy and welcoming spirit.
“This choir was born out of a desire to bring people together,” said Dr. Deborah Davis Jones, the choir’s organizer. “Gospel music builds community. It encourages hope, unity, and joy—and that’s exactly what we want to share with Lakeside.”

Director Paul Schwartz leads Chapala Gospel practice.
The Christmas Song Fest will feature a lively mix of gospel arrangements, Christmas classics, and a community carol sing-along, inviting the audience to raise their voices alongside the choir.
“Our goal is simple,” the director added. “We want everyone who walks through the doors to feel the joy of the season. This isn’t just a concert—it’s a celebration we create together.”
A donation of 100 pesos is recommended.
