Number Four serves fundraising dishes on closing nights

Kim Everest, owner of Restaurant Number Four, has generously offered to co-create a fundraiser for the Music for All program of the local Instituto Internacional.  
The school’s aguaponic farm, Granja El Diferencia is donating and delivering their organically grown, fresh tilapia, herbs and vegetables ready for the Four kitchen to cook and serve as a special dish.


Lake Chapala Democrats begin voter registration drive

The Lake Chapala Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico will begin a seven week long voter registration drive for U.S. expats next week.

The first sessions will be Monday, September 1, at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS), and Wednesday, September 3, at Salvador’s Restaurant in Ajijic. Both sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon.

Cooks dish up Chinese & cake at monthly CASA meet

The August competition of the Culinary Arts Society of Ajijic (CASA) was held during the Monday, August 18 monthly meeting at Min Wah Restaurant.  Categories in the competition were Chinese main dishes and cakes. Judging the entries in terms of flavor and presentation were Betty Leung, Alvaro Beas and Norma King.

LCS throws groovy Woodstock flashback

The Lake Chapala Society drew a big crowd of rockers last Saturday for a rollicking revival of the 1969 Woodstock music festival. Scores of Age of Aquarius survivors decked out in rainbow-hued outfits to get in the groove for the four-hour blast from the past.
