LCS offers free English classes to the Chapala Fire Department

In a display of community support and following its motto “People Helping People,” the Lake Chapala Society (LCS), has launched a new program to offer free English classes to the Chapala Fire Department.

pg11aThis initiative aims to bridge language barriers and enhance communication skills, which are crucial in emergency and rescue operations involving English-speaking residents and visitors.

The English classes, tailored specifically for the firefighters, focus on practical vocabulary and conversational skills. This specialized training is designed to assist firefighters in effectively communicating during emergencies, where understanding and speaking English can be vital. Whether responding to a call involving tourists or expatriates, the ability to speak English can significantly improve response times and the overall effectiveness of the service.  More than 50 firefighters participate in these classes.
