Auditorium acoustics

Hooray for the improved auditorium. The appearance and acoustics are much improved thanks to the efforts of Pro Auditorio and the contributions of members of Lakeside musical organizations. All agree that the money was well spent!

Aztec

Make a date for the Aztec Studios on Sunday, March 3, noon to 4 p.m.  Show up and share a drink and snacks with artist Janice Kimball and enjoy the beautiful pre-Hispanic-type weavings that have been marked down 50 percent.  Also view a new collection of contemporary wall pieces that will be marked down 30 percent.

The choir

Los Cantantes del Lago, Lakeside’s professionally directed choir, is staging a concert on Tuesday, March 12, 7 p.m. and Wednesday, March 13, 4 p.m. at Auditorio de la Ribera del Lago in La Floresta.

Northern Lights

In spite of many rumors to the contrary, the principal concerts of the Scotia Bank Northern Lights Festival series will be held at the Auditorio de la Ribera del Lago in La Floresta.

Open studios

Enter the world of local artists when the Ajijic Society of the Arts (ASA)  holds its second annual Open Studios Tour on Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mariachi gala
Well-known singer Dina Buendia and her musicians will headline a mariachi gala at the Hotel Real de Chapala on Friday, February 8, 7 p.m.
