Guadalajara continues to boast an increasing number of cozy spots where great jazz thrives. One such venue gaining growing acclaim is Cafetal 97 in Colonia Americana—a laid-back night bar, restaurant and gallery that blends live music performances with art exhibitions, food and drinks.
Famed tenor Plácido Domingo made a surprise appearance on the stage of the Teatro Degollado on September 13 to perform “Ojos Tapatíos”—a song from the 1936 film “Allá en el Rancho Grande.” This iconic movie helped launch the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and propelled actor Jorge Negrete to fame.
