The Ajijic Malecón will be set up with professional kitchen gear this weekend as the venue for Sabor a Jalisco, a two-day cooking competition among students enrolled in the state’s IDEFT vocational training system.

Ellen McFarland is the speaker at the Sunday, October 9 meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.  McFarland will continue the exploration of the book “A Chosen Faith: An Introduction to Unitarian Universalism” by Forrest Church and John Buehrens.  She will review Chapters 1 and 2 and give her insights. Lorna Dean is the service leader.

Ajijic resident Jack Prins was the guest of honor at a book-signing party in Rancho del Oro this week, reading from (and signing copies of) his autobiography “One Step Ahead.” 

Elsie Sherburn turned 103 on September 20, surrounded by family and friends. Sherburn moved to Canada from England at age 15.
