Jalisco hosts 27th Brussels World Spirits Competition

Jalisco has solidified its position as a global leader in the spirits sector, hosting the 27th edition of the Brussels World Spirits Competition from September 7 to 12.   With over 2,800 samples from 70 countries, the prestigious event showcased Mexico’s significant role in the sector, contributing 20 percent of the registered samples. 

New route: Volaris cuts travel time from Guadalajara to Ixtapa

Low-cost airline Volaris has announced the launch of a new route connecting Guadalajara with one of Mexico’s most popular Pacific Coast resorts. Starting on November 2, the airline will offer four weekly flights to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, a pair of neighboring tourist towns in Guerrero known for their distinct vibes.

Jalisco awaits 150 spirits experts to taste 2,500+ samples in international competition

Jalisco has been selected as the venue for the 27th edition of the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.

The competition will feature a wide range of spirits, including whisky, cognac, brandy, rum, vodka, tequila, gin, pisco, grappa, baijiu, raicilla and more. These beverages will be evaluated and classified by a panel of world-renowned experts.

Wixárika sacred site on Lake Chapala restored

Authorities of the Wixárica Indigenous people and officials from the Jalisco Ministry of Culture have reaffirmed their commitment to protect Xapawiyemeta, a sacred site located on a high point of Lake Chapala’s Isla de los Alacranes.
