Lakeside expats planning an Easter egg coloring session won’t find packages of ubiquitous PAAS dye tablets in shops here or stores in Guadalajara. With Mexican stores stocked to the rafters with swim suits, beach toys and camping gear for outdoor fun during Easter vacations, those tied to north of the border customs are searching for alternative methods to jazz up traditional Easter eggs.

The creativity and caring of 35 lakeside women will have nearly 300 children in four lakeside communities skipping into spring wearing brand new, handmade dresses and vests.

The Easter season in lakeside’s predominantly Roman Catholic communities will be framed by solemn rites and age-old customs that will be observed from this weekend through Sunday, April 20.

The Little Chapel

The interdenominational congregation of The Little Chapel by The Lake will observe Palm Sunday (April 13) with their regular schedule of activities.

Seventy-six golfers teed off Thursday, April 3 at the Chapala Country Club in quest of the Amigo Cup Trophy. At the end of play, team number two, comprised of Jim and Suzy Park, Mike Sloan, and Margaret Walker, emerged victorious.
