The Chapala government has taken another big step toward the establishment of a local branch of the University of Guadalajara (UdG) following the unanimous approval by the city council to relinquish 20 hectares of land for construction of the campus.

Mordida (bribery) in the Chapala area is a thing of the past, according to local traffic police commanders who addressed a small group of foreign residents gathered at the Lake Chapala Society on Monday, August 5.
