The “Movies That Matter” Festival this week applauds three victories over discrimination. The festival will continue every Sunday and Thursday at 2 p.m. through March at the Cine+Lago Theater in Plaza Bugambilias in Ajijic.
“A Walk In The Woods,” Lee Blessing’s play about the human side of high-stakes arms negotiations, opens at The BRAVO! Theatre on Thursday, March 26.
A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and nominated for a Tony Award, the play takes the audience on a walk in the woods with the top negotiators for the U.S. and USSR as they discover that the possible answer to world peace could be recognition of each other as human beings. The play is based on actual events.
The “Movies That Matter” series will feature two films this week that spotlight freedom of speech and diversity of thought. The Film Festival continues every Sunday and Thursday at 2 p.m. during March at the Cine+Lago Theater in Plaza Bugambilias in Ajijic.
The Lake Chapala Orchestra (LCO) invites music lovers to an afternoon of rich Slavic color and sweeping Romanticism with Slavic Rhapsody, a special concert on Saturday, March 28, 2 p.m. at the Robert Kleffel Auditorium, located at the Instituto Tecnológico de Jalisco Chapala, Libramiento Chapala–Ajijic 200.
Lakeside Little Theatre (LLT) will open the final production of its 61st season, “The Woman in Black,” written by Stephen Mallatratt and directed by Paul Kloegman, on Friday, April 3.
