Weekly Worship - April 18, 2026

Common Ground Fellowship / Little Chapel by the Lake

As Dr. Wayne Cook continues his teachings on systematic theology, this Sunday, He will lead us on the topic of What We Believe About Denominations. All churches have different flavors, but what are those key components that are essential for a congregation of believers in Christ?

CGFLC is a bilingual, friendly, and all-inclusive place to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe the church exists primarily for the benefit of those outside it as we seek to make Christ’s love known to others by serving our community in a feeding ministry and various other forms of aid. Additionally, we gladly accept donations of clothing and non-perishable food items that go directly to families in need in our purple donation box in front of the Chapel. Among our missions, we also host the Saturday car wash fundraiser for Mama Cleo’s boys' home from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week and we have a Saturday outreach to children in need in Chapala.

Our main worship service begins at 11 a.m. and includes a children’s church. During the week, on Wednesdays at 5 p.m., Belva Velazquez leads a Bible Study on the Word.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

We’re exploring God’s good news! Here’s our latest find: before believers ever reached for Him, God had already called their names. In Christ, they are chosen—not by chance, but by grace. Adopted into His family, redeemed from the past, forgiven beyond measure. Every spiritual blessing rests not in striving, but in belonging. Believers are no longer searching for worth—they are held within it. This is their identity: not what they have done, but what He has declared. We are his—great news!

English worship service is Sunday at 10:45 a.m. with Pastor Dan Klassen. English-language Bible study is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 10 a.m. Choir practice is on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to noon. Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Two ways of being are available to us, and we see both on display in today’s world of politics, daily living, and in nature.

The Rev.Tim Boeve will speak to these two ways in his message, Pro Bono, Quid Pro Quo and Us.

One of these ways is transactional, the other springs from grace.

Both have their place, albeit one requires a return on an investment and the other predominantly feeds the human spirit in ways that benefit both the giver and our world’s needs, without expecting anything in return. Ted Fahy will serve as Service Associate and Wiley Beveridge will provide music and accompaniment for the 12 p.m. service.

All services of the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship are held at noon at St. Andrews Anglican Church, San Lucas 19, Riberas de Pilar. For more information: lcuuf.org. Please consult the website for the services on April 5 and 12.
