Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, September 28, the sermon will be “When You Are Anxious,” from Philippians 4:6-7.

Life is full of struggles—anxiety, weariness, loneliness, discouragement, trials, and pain. When life feels overwhelming, where do we turn? This week, we’re starting a new six-week sermon series called “When Life Gets Hard,” exploring God’s promises for hard times. Each week, we’ll see how Scripture speaks to our deepest struggles and discover the peace, strength, and hope that only Christ can give. When it’s 3 a.m., and you’re wide awake because your mind is racing with worries about money, commitments, or relationships ... you’re struggling with anxiety. Anxiety makes you miserable—and it won’t let you rest. But God offers something better: His perfect peace. Join us this Sunday as we discover how faith can turn restless anxiety into calm trust.

Ajijic’s flamboyant La Rusa to be celebrated at Open Circle

Of all the colorful characters who have shaped Ajijic’s history, few left as vivid an impression as Eleanor Saenger—better known as La Rusa. The actress, vocalist, and ballet dancer captivated audiences on stages from New York’s Metropolitan Opera House to Europe’s grand theaters before settling at Lake Chapala a century ago.
