The new dedicated pickup zone for ride-hailing platforms has opened at Guadalajara International Airport, offering an organized space for app-based services such as Uber and Didi.
Under federal law, only officially registered taxis can pick up passengers directly at the terminal. Just in time for the World Cup, the Jalisco government has built what it calls a “Patio Operativo” about 1.5 kilometers from the main terminal, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Because the new zone is not within walking distance of the arrivals hall, the government provides a free shuttle service. Passengers should look for the shuttle in the international arrivals area; it runs every five minutes using fully electric vehicles with air conditioning, luggage space, and universal accessibility. The shuttle ride takes about five to seven minutes.
