Runners set to scale La Chupinaya

More than 350 runners, joggers and hikers will test their mettle Sunday, August 27 in Ajijic’s 15th annual Chupinaya mountain challenge, with side-by-side races for athletes of different ages and abilities kicking off from the town plaza at 10 a.m. sharp.

School kids gear up for start of academic cycle

Thousands of local children will load up backpacks with pristine notebooks, brand new pencils and other implements of learning early Monday, August 20 to head off for classes on the first day of the 2012-2013 school year.
