June 21: Pianist Lourdes Santiago and Manuel Delaflor in concert, with the second half featuring a “four-hands” demonstration.  June 28: Recital by Pedro Velázquez Cardoso (flute) and José Guadalupe López Luévano (guitar).

The Martes de Música y Ópera series sponsored by the Jalisco Culture Department attracts some truly stellar classical performers and it’s all free!  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

A captivating exhibition of over 200 portraits taken by a Jalisco photographer whose career spanned some of the most eventful periods in Mexican history is showing in Casa ITESO Clavigero, a cultural center owned by the Jesuit university and centrally located one half block west of Avenida Chapultepec in Guadalajara’s Colonia Americana.

Circus arts

MAY CULTURAL FESTIVAL.  Contemporary circus arts group Les 7 Doigts de la Main from Quebec close the festival with their acclaimed show, “Traces,” described by the New York Times as “a dose of pure urban adrenaline.”
