Partners of the Americas to hold international convention in Guadalajara

Partners of the Americas, a non-profit organization that seeks to connect people and organizations across borders to serve and to change lives through lasting partnerships, will host its 2016 International Partnership Convention at Guadalajara’s Hotel Presidente Intercontinental from October 26-29. 


Mexican fiesta in Zapopan colonia

More than a dozen bands from all over Mexico will descend on a Zapopan neighborhood when the “Verbena de la Musica Nuestra” (Carnival of Our Own Music) takes over the charming plaza of Atemajac del Valle Saturday and Sunday, February 27 and 28.

Consulate lauds teaching institute

The U.S. Consulate in Guadalajara Wednesday held a celebration to honor Guadalajara’s Instituto Mexicano Norteamericano (IMN), an institution that has been teaching  English to Mexican citizens for 67 years.  

Dog adoption event Sunday

A dog adoption event is planned during the Via RecreActiva on Sunday, January 31, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parque Azuela (off Av. Vallarta between Los Arcos and the Minerva Glorieta).

Expo Guadalajara will be a hive of activity this weekend with several events taking place that are certain to attract a good number of visitors. 

Feeding the homeless in Guadalajara

Around 50 patrons have responded this winter to Guadalajara city hall’s “Adopt a Dinner” campaign to provide nutritious meals to homeless denizens in the metro area. Donors agree to provide a full meal on a given day for 65 homeless persons at the Centro de Atención y Desarrollo Integral para Personas en Situación de Indigencia (CADIPSI), located to one side of the Agua Azul Park.
