Equestrian spectacle booked for February 22

If watching prize horse flesh in action holds appeal, you won’t want to miss Pasión Ecuestre, the equestrian spectacle to be presented by Rancho Los Garañones at Chapala’s Lienzo Charro Saturday, February 22, starting at 4 p.m.

The arena is located at the north end of Avenida Madero, opposite the Pemex station. The 40-peso entry fee for adults gets you in to watch skilled horsemen put their handsome mounts through the paces in Escuela Alta dressage routines and dancing steps set to a Mexican beat. Two children can tag along for free.

Los Garañones, noted for its stock of Friesian, Quarter Horse and Pinto stallions, will raffle off five free stud services during the show.

Local horseback riders are welcome to join the Cabalgata parade preceding the event. It starts at the old railway station, 2 p.m., to run the length of Avenida González Gallo, Ramon Corona and Madero en route to the arena.
