LCS Spanish Classes resume January 5

The Lake Chapala Society Spanish program is gearing up for a new term of Warren Hardy Spanish Language Classes. This session of classes will begin on Monday, January 5 and run through Saturday, February 21. The Warren Hardy four-level language course is designed to give the adult student a solid foundation in Spanish.

Registration for the next session of classes is currently under way on weekdays at the LCS office. The final sign up from Monday, December 29 through Saturday, January 3 will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the blue umbrella patio of the LCS campus. The instructor will be on hand to evaluate the appropriate level of instruction for each student. The required text and additional support materials are avail in the LCS office. Note that the LCS will not be open on Thursday, January 1.

In addition to the Warren Hardy classes, the LCS offers a casual Introduction to Spanish for beginners. Course work includes the Spanish alphabet, simple vocabulary and phrases to use about town or while shopping, and useful information about lakeside and Mexican culture.

The intro classes are generally held the first Tuesday of each month and then meet once a week for for three weeks from noon until 1:30 p.m. The January class will begin on the second Tuesday, January 13. Materials are provided; the tuition fee is 175 pesos. Sign up at the LCS office on Monday through Saturday, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
