Weekly Worship - November 11, 2023

Lake Chapala Baptist Church

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God, the one who does evil has not seen God. (3 John :11)

Brothers and sister, how easy is it to do evil? Got doesn’t rank evil, everything is the same whether it taking what is not ours to murder. When someone is evil to you, you may become very angry and respond in kind. But God commands us to return evil with good. All of us need to remember this, and In a time of anger, take a second to remember it. Reach out to the one who does evil and perhaps you can plant a seed for God. It is hard but take the high road and walk in the shoes of Jesus. He knows we will fall but pick yourself up and try to do better next time.

Lakeside Presbyterian Church

Sunday, November 12, Pastor Wayne will talk this Sunday about “Facing a God-sized Problem.”

Bread is essential to life, but a huge crowd in the wilderness had no food. Moses truly faced a God-sized problem. No human had a solution. But then God extraordinarily provided manna for them every day, a bread-like substance they had never seen before.

In John 6, we find a parallel story. Once again a huge crowd had no food, presenting another God-sized problem. Jesus started with only five loaves of bread and two fish. He gave thanks, broke the food, and gave it to his disciples, who distributed it to the crowd. Miraculously, the food multiplied and thousands of people had enough to eat.  Indeed 12 baskets of food were left over. This event was so significant, it is the only miracle found in all four gospels.  Let’s look at the lessons we learned from this story.

The English language service is at 9:30 a.m., which also streams live at facebook.com/LPCChapala.

Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study.

If you need a ride, or more information, call 376-106-0853 before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Heritage Baptist Church

Daniel was the epitome of faithfulness, the poster child of trustworthiness, “he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him”.

To be truly godly, a person must be faithful – in every area of his life. If a man’s word cannot be trusted, you should wonder about his profession of faith in Christ. That isn’t to say that Christians don’t sometimes live, even for long periods, in their corrupted flesh, but his saved soul—the new creature‚—demands faithfulness.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” It is after regeneration that we begin to display the characteristics of the Christian life. But don’t strive for faithfulness, honesty and religiousness, expecting these things to provide you with salvation and eternal life.

Salvation is not found in the perfecting of ourselves, but in the perfect sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Deliverance from sin is not attained through fleshly diligence, but through faith in the finished work of the Savior.
