The American Society (Amsoc) Book Club will discuss ”Dreams of My Russian Summers” by Andrei Makine (1995), at its Thursday, May 18, 10 a.m. meeting. This entertaining novel tells the poignant story of a boy growing up amid the harsh realities of Soviet life in the 1960s and ‘70s, and of his extraordinary love for an elegant Frenchwoman, Charlotte Lemonnier, who is his grandmother. The American School Foundation of Guadalajara will host its second annual Eco Race & Feria Ambiental (environmental-themed fair), Sunday, May 17.
