Mexican diplomat sharing his experience during Ajijic retirement

Three main things inspired retired diplomat Carlos Gonzalez Magallon and his wife Melania to leave Guadalajara for the simpler life of Lakeside: Retirement, no longer needing to report to an office every day and no longer wanting to deal with the city traffic. Exactly one year ago, they made the move and couldn’t be happier. “This is paradise,” he says.

Amazingly agile canines dhow off

Last weekend’s dog agility contest  was a howling success, with 78 pooches of different sizes and breeds showing off their canine abilities and enthusiasm while scrambling over obstacle courses set up on the grounds of the Hotel Perico.
