Officials from the American Services and Federal Benefits units at the United States Consulate in Guadalajara traveled to the municipality of Chapala on Friday, February 17, for outreach to U.S. citizens who reside in the lakeside area.
Separate information sessions were held at American Legion Post 7 headquarters in Chapala and the Lake Chapala Society in Ajijic, with around 50 individuals attending at each location.
The presentations included guidance on applying for passport renewals, notarial services available by appointment, voter registration and absentee ballot procedures, CRBA reports of a birth abroad, and Social Security and Veterans Benefit programs.
