You will learn about the Montessori approach and how communities can come together to support dignity, engagement, and quality of life for people living with dementia and those who love them.
Kentucky Derby
Saturday, April 25 is the last day to reserve tickets for the coveted Kentucky Derby Party to be held at the Raquet Club in San Juan Cosala on Saturday, May 2, 3 to 7 p.m. The 800-peso ticket charge entitles you to enjoy Mint Julips, lavender lemonade Margaritas, and a bourbon tasting station with five brands of that elixir. The menu includes a carving station with beef tenderloin, charcuterie cup with fruit and cheese, barbecued bourbon shrimp, mini Kentucky sliders with chicken and bacon, tea sandwiches, smoked deviled eggs and walnut cake dessert. Wear your finest outfit and hat for this occasion. Prizes will be given for the best-dressed man and woman and for the best hat. Limited to 50 people. Tickets available at the Club office.
Witches of Ajijic dance
Calling all fun-loving people who enjoy playing dress up, sharing silliness, laughing out loud, entertaining (or being ridiculed by) strangers, making new friends, and possibly drinking margaritas or other suitable beverages to the May Day Eve (Walpurgisnacht) first dance of the year, Thursday, April 30, 2 to 3 p.m. on the Ajijic Malecon.
