At St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, we know that we all face losses in life. How we find meaning in those losses is critical to our ability to turn around and move in a new direction. It may come as a surprise to know that “turn around” is the meaning of the word “repentance,” the theme running through this Sunday’s readings. In her sermon, “Why I’m Wearing Capris to the Cathedral,” the Rev. Robbin del Nagro talks about how God’s love helps us turn around when we face losses and find new paths to life and joy.

The U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara has announced a change in the payment method for consular services provided during its monthly visits to the American Legion and Lake Chapala Society. 

Mexico’s Mes Patrio (patriotic month) is now underway and lakeside communities are ready to kick off special events leading up to Independence Day celebrations.

Eight-year-old Rayne Ratledge from the United States asked her parents if she could organize a clothing drive for kids in Mexico and she was literally buried in clothes and backpacks.

Her parents are bringing down all that can fit in their luggage this month. The donations will be given to the kids at La Ola orphanage and other needy kids in local Lakeside villages.

Hu Chant
Chanting HU, an ancient name for the Divine, while in a contemplative state, is a simple technique to open your heart to greater happiness, love, inner peace and understanding.  Join in a Hu Chant Saturday September 3, 10:30 a.m., at the Center for Spiritual Living located at 17 Nicholas Bravo, Ajijic, for a short (30 minutes) group HU Chant followed by refreshments and fellowship time.
