Two dead as train hits bus at crossing

A freight train hit a bus attempting to cross a railroad track in Tlajomulco, killing two people. The crash occurred on Sunday, December 28 when the driver, following the 186 route, stopped to let a passenger off. He then failed to make it across the track before the train struck the back of the bus.

“These types of accidents are far too frequent,” an official from the Tlajomulco municipal police force told reporters. “It’s not just public transport, but also individuals who try to beat oncoming trains, resulting in crashes like today’s.”

Of the 16 people injured in the crash, seven are reportedly in serious condition.
