Tax collectors go on the road

Officials from Chapala’s Land Registry department (Catastro) will go on the road next week to take annual impuesto predial (property tax) payment services to the doorstep of property owners in several prime housing developments.

The mobile unit will visit the home owners association office in El Parque on January 7, 9 and 10; continuing in Nuevo Chapala January 11-13, La Floresta January 15-20, Chula Vista Norte January 22-23, Vista Alegre January 24-26, and Riviera Alta, January 29-30.

The February schedule for outreach to other locations will be announced before the end of this month.

Predial payments will also be accepted as of January 2 at the Catastro and cashier windows located in the Chapala City Hall lobby, open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Bills for water supply and sewage services should be paid in person at the Simapa office corresponding to your place of residence. Locations are: Chapala, Madero 208, next door to City Hall; Ajijic, Guadalupe Victoria 63, behind Farmacias Guadalajara; San Antonio, Carretera 117, next to the Oxxo store; and Delegación offices in Atotonilquillo, Santa Cruz de la Soledad and San Nicolás de Ibarra.

Simapa fees for 2017 are increasing by 7.38 percent. The rate varies according to the locale and type of the property and whether consumption is calculated by cuota fija (fixed rate) or servicio medido (metered measurement).

A 15-percent discount is applied to 2018 property and water bills paid in full by February 28. Customers are attended on a first-come, first-serve basis. Present last year’s receipt to facilitate access to your account.
