Christ Church Lakeside sponsors “Loaves and Fishes,” a food distribution, coordinated by Junior Warden Al Ramos, to needy Lakeside families.
For several years, the church has distributed seasonal gifts to the children of the families as part of this program. This year, beginning a new tradition, the church held a party at the church 3 for the children on December 2.
Senior Warden Lani Zeigler and her niece, Kathleen Zeigler, along with coordinator Paula Rosas Garcia, did a fantastic job organizing a wonderful party on short notice. They were especially thrilled when they realized that Santa Claus, aka Francis Dryden, and his elf helper, aka Ana Jones Rosas, were both available.
People of the church managed to produce a finger food lunch for the entire group and also provided transportation for many “Loaves and Fishes” recipients.
Thanks to a large special donation to “Loaves and Fishes” by former Lakeside residents Phil and Barbara Reitano, each family received a Christmas roast - valuable protein which is missing from the usual food distribution.
