The long-awaited completion of reconstructing Chapala’s Avenida Madero is due by the end of February, according to David Zamora Bueno, chief of Jalisco’s Department of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP).
Zamora and members of his staff inspected the project on Thursday, January 25, accompanied by Chapala Mayor Alejandro Aguirre. They walked the entire stretch between the waterfront Malecón and the new arch spanning the roadway in front of the Soriana supermarket, a length of approximately 1.5 kilometers, to review progress on the work carried out in stages since August 2022.
