Mexico’s Interior Ministry (Secretaría de Gobernación) will operate an amnesty program for illegal immigrants in the country beginning January 2 and running through December 31.
The amnesty will be open to all foreigners who arrived in Mexico prior to November 9, 2012 and have the intention of remaining in Mexico.
Not eligible in the program are foreigners who have a migration resolution pending, those in the process of deportation, and those who have provided authorities with false information or fraudulent documentation.
The amnesty is open to all nationalities.
