A pilot initiative allowing drivers involved in minor accidents with no injuries to move their vehicles before adjusters arrive at the scene to free up traffic is proving to be successful.
According to the Jalisco Transportation Department (Semov), the measure was applied in 169 accidents in the first 12 days of December. Under changes to Jalisco’s Mobility Law, vehicles can be moved from the actual spot of the accident if both insurances companies agree after being notified by phone, and receiving photos. Semov said that under the new procedure the average time to move the vehicles to the side of the road after a minor accident has been between eight and 15 minutes.
