Canadian diplomats visit governor

This week, Canadian Ambassador to Mexico Graeme C. Clark visited Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro, together with Lewis Coughlin, the Canadian consul in Guadalajara, and Stéphanie Allard-Gomez, Quebec’s Delegate General to Mexico. 

Governor opts to keep masks

Even though many countries (and some Mexican states) have relaxed their rules regarding the use of face coverings, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro said Monday that he hopes his health board will decide to continue the measure for the time being.

Reversal for AMLO’s electricity sector reforms

A bill sent to the federal Chamber of Deputies by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, which would have increased state control over the nation’s electricity sector, failed to reach the necessary number of votes required to change Mexico’s Constitution.
