Governor opts to keep masks

Even though many countries (and some Mexican states) have relaxed their rules regarding the use of face coverings, Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro said Monday that he hopes his health board will decide to continue the measure for the time being.

Alfaro said that although infections in the state are at their “lowest level of the pandemic,” his personal opinion is that face masks “reduce the risks.”

The governor said he will abide by any decision on the use of face masks taken by his health cabinet.
