New hospital opens in Paradise Village
A new hospital has opened in the Paradise Village complex in Bahia de Banderas. The Hospital San Javier Riviera Nayarit is looking to get a lot of its business from the growing medical tourism market, especially from Canada, hospital directors say. The new facility is run by Grupo Empresarial San Javier, which has operated hospitals in Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta for the past 17 and 11 years, respectively.
Jalisco Governor Emilio Gonzalez says it is up to the people of Puerto Vallarta to decide if their malecon should remain pedestrian only in the future.
Puerto Vallata’s new Los Muertos pier will be finished before the end of the year, according to Victor Mijangos, planning supervisor at the Jalisco Department of Tourism. A major attraction of the pier will be fabric sails that will be illuminated at night. The pier structure is reportedly being manufactured in Guadalajara and will be transported in segments to Puerto Vallarta. The image above shows an artist’s rendition of what the finished pier will look like.
