Chili Cook-off
The eighth annual Puerto Vallarta Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at Parque Parota (in front of Hotel Puerto de Luna and across the street from the Fiesta Americana Hotel).
Consulate get-together
Personnel from the U.S. Consul General in Guadalajara will hold an expat information event at Salon Paradise (next to San Javier Hospital Nuevo, across the street from Hard Rock Hotel) on Friday, February 14, from noon to 3 p.m.

The Noveno Campeonato Internacional Charro (Ninth International Charro Championship) “Hacienda Serena 2020” takes place at Arena Vallarta from January 28 to February 2.
Car Show
For the fourth year in a row, the Riviera Nayarit welcomes the Nuevo Vallarta Car Show. The event is organized by Wolfs Bugs Nuevo Vallarta Club to promote camaraderie among car and bike aficionados in a family-friendly atmosphere. Prizes go to the best cars and bikes in different categories: Classic, Euro, Tuning (Modified), Custom (Personalized), and motorcycles.

Whale watching
The whales have arrived! According to the Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT), this year’s whale watching season officially opened on December 8 and will run through March 23, 2020.
Virgin of Guadalupe
Every year, during the first 12 days of December, the streets of Puerto Vallarta fill with Catholic devotees, making their way through the city in traditional peregrinaciones (pilgrimages), honoring Mexico’s beloved Virgin of Guadalupe.
