The best jazz fixes in Guadalajara

If this article has whet your appetite for more jazz music, then we at the Reporter suggest you make homes of the following three establishments, all clustered within Guadalajara’s core:

Café Andre Breton, Juan Manuel 175, Zona Centro.  The sine qua non of jazz bars in Guadalajara, located two blocks north of Plaza de la Liberacion.  Open from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. every day except Sunday (when it’s closed) and Monday (when its open until 8 p.m.).

El Primer Piso, Pedro Moreno 947-1, Colonia Americana.  Hidden away up a flight of stairs in an aggressively nondescript building two blocks from the Templo Expiatorio.  Open 7:30 p.m. to 3 a.m., closed Sunday and Monday.

Coltrane Café, Coronilla 20, Zona Centro. Found on a large alley crowded with restaurants and bars connecting Calle Morelos and Hidalgo.  Open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., closed Sunday.
